June 4, 2010

Thank you all so much for your calls, e-mails, and most importantly…your prayers.  Although this has been a very tough couple of days, Philip and I both feel that, with God’s help and your prayers, we can handle what is to come our way.

We had a good visit with our doctor in Little Rock today.  Again, they are awesome at UAMS and Children’s.  The amniocentesis went smoothly.  They have just ordered me to “take it easy”.   Since I have excess amniotic fluid I am at high risk for pre-term labor.  They want her to cook a little longer in my belly so that she will be able to handle the surgery if that is what is needed.  The results of the test will come back in a couple of weeks, but we will get preliminary screening results probably on Tuesday of this next week.  That will tell us if they are beginning to see any chromosomal or genetic abnormalities, and then the complete results will have the final findings.  We believe we will know quite a bit more about her possible condition with these results.

We will go back to Little Rock 3 weeks from today to visit my OB doctor and the Cardiologist.  At that time, we will also be able to tour Children’s Hospital and see where she will be after she is born.  We will also schedule her delivery by C-section at that time.

Thank you all again for listening to our story and genuinely caring and praying for us.  Please continue to pray that God’s will be done above all and that He be glorified.

We love you,
The Mortons
