Our hearts are rejoicing!!!! Glory Danielle Morton was born on Thursday, July 22nd, at 1:45 p.m. She weighed 5 lbs. and 15 ounces and, under the circumstances, doing really well!! There are many details that I will share with you when I have more time, but right now I am ready to head to ACH to see her today!!! I was released from the hospital yesterday and am recovering well.
Glory does have many hurdles to overcome, but there is much good news to report. The main one is that her lungs are very strong and developed so that she will be able to have the heart surgery that she needs. The first heart surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday morning. We are asking that you all continue to pray that she continues to get stronger, and please be in prayer on Wednesday for her. This surgery will probably be the most critical thing that she goes through. There is a constriction in her esophagus, but we are hopeful that this is not as serious as we initially thought that it could be. We will find out more about that tomorrow. They will be doing many more tests tomorrow just to make sure that she is completely ready for her surgery on Wednesday. I am just so happy that she is here and with us…I could even hear her crying when she was born!!! That was a wonderful sound, as I did not know what her condition would be at birth.
I love you all so much…please continue to be in prayer for Glory…that she will rest peacefully at Children’s, that the doctors will be guided in all that they do, and for her tests this week and her surgery on Wednesday.
She is beautiful…see attached…we are a little biased, though!!!!
Love,
The Mortons
